Repost: The rabbit learns not to pick up things

I’ve told you once of a rabbit who is easily awed by things of beauty and has this habit of picking up things before, and now, rabbit continues her journey after picking up the shard of glass..

It was nightfall and the shard of glass still hadn’t answered. Rabbit is frustrated because the rainbow was gone the moment that the sun had bid farewell and the moon had taken it’s shift to bring a soft glow upon the fields. Rabbit decided to hop back to her house taking the shard of glass with her. She could not leave the shard of glass behind for she is hoping that the glass might answer and she wouldn’t be there to hear it. Rabbit sat on her table staring at the shard of glass with wonder. “How lucky am I to come across such a wonderful thing! This must have been God’s gift for me!”. She then carefully got up to wrap the shard of glass on one of her favorite handkerchiefs before she went to bed. Every time, as rabbit hops out to get some food and meet her friends, she brings the shard of glass with her. Months had passed, and the shard of glass still hadn’t made a sound, just always laying cool inside her pocket. So as rabbit sat quietly under her favorite tree, she took out the shard of glass and unwrapped the handkerchief. ‘Twas then someone spoke aloud, claiming the shard of glass to be hers. Rabbit looked around her and saw no one. She looked up and saw a snake, crawling down the tree, the snake hissed and took out a mirror telling the rabbit how the shard of glass belonged to her and how she had broken her mirror. Rabbit confused, tried to fit the shard of glass into the empty space the mirror was missing and it did fit. Then rabbit said, “but it’s no use getting it now, your mirror is already broken, it can never be whole again even if you have all the pieces” yet as she was saying these words, rabbit grasp tightly unto the shard of glass causing her hand to bleed. drop and drops of blood dripped from rabbit’s hand unto the ground and the snake said, “if it is of no use as you say it is, then why are you holding on to it so tightly that your hands are now bleeding? let go rabbit for it is mine to begin with and I treasure my mirror, even though broken as much as you treasure that shard of glass” Rabbit, speechless and filled with emotions, let go of the glass, now smeared with rabbit’s blood but still silent as it was the day rabbit had picked it up…

Rabbit then quickly hops toward her friend, the panda’s house and cried.

It has been awhile that the shard of glass has left the rabbit’s side. Despite it’s silence, danger and coldness, rabbit had missed it terribly. Rabbit missed the rainbow the shard of glass shows her. But rabbit has no choice but to let it go,even as it had left a big scar in her hands from the cut. Because some things no matter how hard you hold on to it, no matter how much you cry and wail and beg or even bleed… will never be yours, and it doesn’t mean you won’t be happy anymore, YOU WILL BE. This is something about life that rabbit has to learn: accepting and letting go.

we cannot always have what we desire, for what if every single individual gets what he or she desires? wouldn’t the world be more chaotic than it is now?

Repost: The foolish rabbit and her shard of glass

There was once a rabbit, happily hopping her way down the street when she saw a beautiful flower, the flower is colored yellow and blooms beautifully amidst the summer heat. The rabbit hops fast toward the flower hoping to pick it and bring it home yet as the rabbit drew closer, the flower closed itself up. The rabbit blinked and wondered why the flower did such thing. The rabbit then leaves the flower alone thinking “I could never take such a beautiful flower with me”.
As the rabbit hops further down the road, she came across a very smooth pebble. ‘Twas so smooth that the rabbit couldn’t resist not picking it up. She pockets the pebble and hops away, but the pebble was too heavy for her to bear, the rabbit tried to hop further- yet it only exhausted her more. The rabbit slowed down and hops slowly, slowly, slowly… it took her a while to reach her house. The rabbit quickly placed the pebble on her table- not knowing what to do with it. Her pocket was slightly torn due to the pebble’s weight. Suddenly, there was a knock on the door, it’s the frog wanting her pebble back, she lost it on her way to the pond. “I didn’t know it belonged to someone else, are you sure it’s yours?” asked the rabbit. The frog insisted and the rabbit then gave the pebble back to the frog. Tears flowed down the rabbit’s cheeks as she gave the precious smooth pebble back to the frog. She then tried to move on thinking “the smooth pebble was never mine to begin with”.
The season’s starting to change now and the rabbit needs to go to a warmer place. So the rabbit packed her bags and hops out to go find a warmer place to stay for the winter. As the rabbit happily hops through the forest, something colorful caught her eye. “It’s a rainbow!” the rabbit squealed excitedly. It’s the first time the rabbit came across a rainbow for she only hears about it on other people’s stories. She then excitedly hops her way towards the rainbow, curious ed where it is coming from. As the rabbit hops closer she discovered that a simple shard of glass is responsible for the rainbow and her excitement. She then slowly bend down to pick up the shard of glass. Holding the glass carefully between her hands, the rabbit asked the glass, “did somebody drop you?” the glass didn’t answer. the rabbit tried again, “do you want to come with me?” again, there was no answer. the rabbit then sat down and said, “i like what you gave me and i wanna keep you, is it okay?” still there was no answer. So rabbit waited and waited and waited and is still waiting for the shard of glass to answer her- carefully holding the silent glass between her hands not knowing if the glass would indeed bring her happiness or would only cut her one day.

hey, shard of glass, speak up!

..I’m on my way, and I found my happy fur..

Last night, the internet was out and I was stuck watching TV with my sister- who is watching Brother Bear on Disney Channel. I’ve seen Brother Bear before, like a dozen of times (it’s a habit of my sister to rewatch and rewatch and rewatch…LOL.) but last night, I saw it on a different perspective.

I feel like I was in Koda’s fur for the first time.

The journey I have to take to go home may be long.. may be hard..

I may need to be brave, I may need to be strong..

but nothing can stop me, cause I’m on my way now.. :)

I may have lost my happy bubble… it’s inevitable.

but now I’ve found my happy fur. ^__^

…So tell ‘em I’m on my way

New friends and new places to see

And to sleep under the stars and I couldn’t ask for more

With the moon keeping watch over me…
